The short answer, well, there isn’t one! The 30ft x 148ft greenhouse holds Fall, Winter, and Spring crops, so this week we took out the Winter crops, and planted Spring greens, and we have tomatoes ready to be planted too!🍅 ( Fun Fact #1: Did you know we plant the first group of tomato seeds in late January??) Outside, we have fruit trees, strawberries, tulips, and daffodils blooming, so we have to keep a close eye on the weather, and cover the fruit blossoms if it dips too low. In the “Propagation Greenhouse”, there are lots of blooms! Columbine, carnations, roses, peonies, aloe vera, and lemons to name a few!
Fun Fact #2: This greenhouse has a low of 40 degrees in the Winter, and already this year, I’ve been working in there, and it’s been 120 degrees, so I don’t know what the high is, but it’s high! So it’s the same temperatures as zone 11, which is Hawaii, and the Florida Keys!!😎🏝 Here are some pictures from the greenhouse!
We are looking forward to all of these baby plants growing into yummy, nourishing food for our family and yours! Our Summer vegetable shares will be starting before we know it!
The farmers have been enjoying lots of icecream and chocolate milk recently! Here’s our favorite chocolate milk recipe!
1 Quart milk
1/4 Cup cocoa powder
1/4 Cup maple syrup
put all in a blender, mix and enjoy!
We got the winter protection off of the strawberry field this week and they look wonderful! We will be selling loads of ripe berries before we know it! Stay tuned for those!
We will begin with offering extra things through email soon. Stay tuned for that as well!
Blessings and Happy Ressurection Sunday! He is risen! May you know Him and his peace that passes understanding!
