Well, we were sorry to give a little less milk in each jar this week…..we had a ‘cow’ tastrophe! If you have ever felt sad after spilling milk, imagine our disappointment when 6 gallons spilled! But since we have a cow “share” we shared the loss among the members and we did without. Thanks for understanding that our process is unique to a small family farm and not a conventional setting. We treasure your support! We have been getting just enough milk to go around so we were especially happy when Charity had her calf yesterday! After her colostrum goes to the calf for a week we will test her milk and when it’s ready to be used we will have plenty of milk. Then the next cow gets to take her maternity leave. Since we care for the calves by sharing her milk with them, our cows take their maternity leave before their baby is born!
